Poem-Dear Darkness

Dear Darkness

You were there, zesty

Formless and empty

Until he says in delight

‘Let there be light’

She wears hopeful yellow

shines warmth and beauty

Foils your dreadful shallow–

unpleasant sooty, without a duty

When you call for rest, she chiffons

in  seductive confetti

And calls you the rebel

masking the graffiti

Silently, you take the blame

And she–soaks in roses

Passionate, prolific, pain

Dangerous with hoses

She is here, zesty

Formless and empty

Until he says in regret

‘Let’s end the abet’
