Poem–Lone

Crystal chandeliers, scarlet drapes, lace spread

Over the coffin, garnished with roses, candles

High-pitched, low-volume, cracking triangle

Of silver wares, white wine, grey weariness

Crimson lips, gleaming, keepers of gates

Heavy heads, spinning, confuse the eye

Clear shadows, shallow, pointing the heels

Honey lamp, cup of tea, round table

Shelving a pen and a notebook

Composing, in the armchair
